About Me

Thank you for taking the time to visit Ashley Montoro Photography. Whether you're here as a client or a visitor, I welcome you. Before I tell you about my photography, let me tell you a little bit about myself. I'm living my happily ever after with the love of my life and family in Bremerton, Washington. I grew up in western NY, spent over a year in Alabama, NYC, Oklahoma, and now Washington- so I have gotten to see a lot of America!  My husband is in school, and I stay busy running after my two little ones, traveling for photography, learning ASL, and teaching and playing the piano, flute, and viola. I am obsessed with donuts.  Just so you know.

Wherever I go I am looking for dreamy lighting and fun locations. Those that know me well know that when I say "ooh, that's pretty," it actually means my next photo shoot will somehow include whatever "that" is. I am a portrait photographer passionate about providing beautiful, timeless, and high-quality images. I want your whole experience to be enjoyable and personal- from the first phone call to when you look at a portrait from your session years later. My hard work is completely rewarded when I get that text or email from an excited client after they've seen a sneak peek in their gallery or the first time they unwrap their beautifully packaged portraits.

I do on-location photography because I want to reflect what makes you, your family, your relationship, or your pet beautiful and special. I have photographed in alleys, fields, snowbanks, on rooftops...even in a pool. I want each session to tell a story. Your story.

Why am I a photographer? I have loved photography for as long as I can remember. I think back to a family camping trip when I was around 5 years old and my Mom handed me her camera for the first time. I still have that picture to this day! I apprenticed for several years with a well-known photographer and went from learning the technical and business aspects, to shooting my own work for him and eventually starting my own business. It is more than exciting to be a part of the creativity in photography, and to be able to share it with clients in such a way that will freeze a memory that will last a lifetime.
