Jack Frost at work

Jack Frost was busy leaving his art on our screen door and windows!

I used my Macro auto-focus settings and I had my zoom set to the widest mm.
I think the results turned out cool...thanks to Mr. Frost.  :)

I found what makes a picture worth a thousand words....

It's life. It's about making memories, because you never know if you have tomorrow.
This picture is worth a thousand words, because there is nothing I can say.
Nothing we can say to his wife and 8 children that lost their Dad this morning.
When it all comes down to it, on a day like today no one cares about what camera you had or how much you know about photography. On a day like today that all means nothing.
It's being greatful for the memories we have of him, and wishing we had another chance to make more.
I would never have even noticed this picture until today, never would have thought this picture would make me cry and ache, and be the best picture I have ever taken.
This group of 3 men will never have the chance to sing again until heaven...but when they are reunited, I think it will be one of God's favorite trios. Not because of how great they sounded, but because of their faithfulness, courage, boldness, and testimony.
We lost a hero today. We lost a fun, kind, smart, loving servant.
But heaven gained...
We will miss you, Mr. Parfitt. But you went the way you lived.
Helping others. Witnessing. Sacrificing.
Thank you for teaching me a life long lesson about photography and life in general...I will never forget.

Who wouldn't ask Santa for one of these this Christmas?

This photo was entered in the I <3 Faces Pets Contest for this week!

I Heart Faces - Photography Challenges, Tutorials and Tips

Between their tiny, wet, cold noses, the irresistible look in their eyes, and their unforgettable puppy breath...how could it not be a Merry Christmas with these little darlings!
Santa wouldn't let the puppy drink his milk!
Please, Santa.....share one more cookie with me?

Little Cutie

My niece wanted to play with this scarf, so I put her IN it!!  :)
She is a little comedian, so she thought it was really funny!

I just love natural lighting!
Here we were in front of the window in my room.
I decided to shoot at my eye level, pointing down so I'd get the carpet as a backdrop instead of the walls and furniture behind her.

Family Christmas Pictures

Well, to be honest taking pictures of people is way more intimidating for me then nature and pets!
Especially a family of 8!!  We went to a fun location in Rochester, and braved the rain outside for some great outdoor pics.  I learned so much as I posed them, watched the lighting, my settings, and their responses.  I did think to grab some candy and a stuffed animal, so that helped get some big smiles.

I will do another post soon to show what I learned in Photoshop Elements as I edited the pictures.
It was pretty cool!

KOBE learning to walk on leash

This sweetheart is very adventurous, but also sweet as a pie!
He loves to play and run, so wasn't crazy about the leash at first, but he adjusted to it and
will be a great walker in no time. He is doing very well in preschool, but he has a little of that boyish spunk-  when I called him the other day he barked and ran off the opposite way.  :) What a tease!

WHAT is this around my neck??
"It's itchy..."

Okay, it's not so bad!!!!!  Aren't I SOOOO cute!?!

Crosby on Lead

This little cutie is in our Puppy Preschool. Today he started learning to walk on lead. He is very attached to people, and is pretty vocal when he is lonely! He was a gentleman on the leash, and did well for his first time. He looks like a little teddy bear. I can't wait for him to meet his new family and I know that they can't wait to meet him in a couple of weeks.

He didn't always appreciate the new thing around his neck!
 Good boy, going potty!  :)
